🎯Excited for my New Blog!

For the past 13-14 years, I've been living, studying, and working in London - the last years dedicated to Crime and Forensic Science and since 2020 - in the field. When I graduated my Bachelors degree in Forensic Science, I was lost. I had no idea where I should be looking for work, how to prep for interview or even how to fill in those very long application forms.

I decided to complete my Masters degree in Crime and Forensic Science, while also dedicated to researching how to get my foot in the door. What would make me stand out? How am I going to shine in interview?

Now that I've been in the industry for 5 solid years - started from the bottom and now in my dream role where I have doubled my salary - I have a lot to say.

🧠 I think about the mistakes I don't want to repeat
(my own and the ones I see others make that I reflect and learn from)

🧠 Things I did wrong while working and trying to grow
(even a few I did last month - I'm always developing! No judgement zone here)

🧠 Random skills / reminders when completing tasking
(very random, but some I feel genuine excitement to share! However weird and random they will be)

🧠 My tips and thoughts about work, promotion, team work, standing out, communication, etc.

🧠 & more

📌KEY WORDS
Recruitment / Hiring process / Microsoft Software / Excel / Outlook / Colleagues / Complaining / Lunch / Training / Courses / YouTube / Websites / ChatGPT / Interview / Soft & Hard Skills / Movies / Side hustles / Life / Grief / Living abroad / Work Life Balance / your own questions you have for me :) / etc !

One thing though -

I will not promise that this blog will give you a promotion, and get you that job you've been eyeing. This blog is for me to share a few topics, tips, thoughts around work, being in the industry, and what I believe are helpful random skills I've learned along the way (and am still learning). This is also not a blog to trash anyone or speak badly about any industry, especially not the one I've worked so hard to get into and absolutely enjoy like a dream.

What I can promise is -

This will be random. There is no structure. It's just me, chatting to a friend about work, and hopefully helping you out with all I can share from my own experience. I feel the need to continue educating myself and elevating my own experience, and I feel I can do that through sharing the knowledge I have and also developing my skills further through this blog.

Best,
Eva
